In October 1972 Federico Barbaranelli and his son Fabio with all the family have sailed together on board of the trimaran "ALBATROS" from Rome to Santa Cruz de Tenerife / Canary Islands.

The trimaran "ALBATROS" under storm in the area of the "Gulf of Lions" (South of France) between Sardinia and Minorca in 1972. During that storm the trimaran sank.
The trimaran "ALBATROS" before sinking in the area of "Gulf of Lions" (South of France) in 1972 at - 40º 00' N / 6º 18' E - under 10/11 Beaufort.
FEDERICO BARBARANELLI
Federico Barbaranelli was the original
promoter of the trip to the Canary Islands
in 1972 with the trimaran "ALBATROS".
Unfortunately he died in 2008.
His son Fabio Barbaranelli followed his
father's footsteps and restructured the
gulet "FEDERICA" in Turkey in 2004 launching in 2009.
